Use of the Great Barrier Reef by humans: The Great Barrier Reef is a beautiful and relaxing place to visit. It's vibrant coral and sea life provide a picturesque view. But in saying this it is all getting ruined by pollution. The amount of sediment flowing through the marine life has quadrupled over the past 150 years. When going to the Great Barrier Reef there's always the amazing underwater swimming, watching the fluorescent sea life swim by and the scenic coral. But this could all be affected by the amount of 'over fishing' that's taken place. Trawling for prawns is permitted in over one third of the marine park and this constantly results in untargeted fish capture and major damage to the sea floor and it's surrounding Habitats.
